This World Athletics-certified marathon circles Lake Rotorua in New Zealand, running anti-clockwise for the first time in over 50 years to bring runners closer to the water on quieter roads. It traces its origins to 1965, with the 2027 edition starting and finishing at the redeveloped Rotorua lakefront.
