In its 9th edition, this flat marathon (just 53m of elevation gain) follows the Loire River's old flood-defence paths near Saumur, France, past UNESCO World Heritage sites, former boatmen's villages and troglodyte dwellings. Distances range from 5K up to the full marathon, plus a combined canoe-and-run event.
