Day 5 of the six-day, 256-mile CYMRUN end-to-end challenge across Wales, this roughly 40-mile stage follows National Cycle Route 8 from Glasbury to Merthyr Tydfil with about 4,214ft of ascent. It is named after the Afanc, a lake monster from Welsh mythology.
