Day 8 of the nine-day, 366-mile MTC SCOTIA end-to-end challenge across Scotland, this 43-mile stage runs from Dornoch to Dunbeath through remote Highland moorland and coastal terrain, with about 3,880ft of ascent. It is named after the selkie, a shapeshifting seal-folk creature of Scottish and Norse legend.
