Day 3 of the six-day, 256-mile CYMRUN end-to-end challenge across Wales, this 47-mile stage runs from Barmouth to Llanidloes along National Cycle Route 8, with around 6,800ft of ascent. It is named after Gelert, the faithful wolfhound of Welsh legend wrongly killed by his master Llywelyn.
